You need:

• Soap remnants (the necessary amount).
• Cloth bags.
• Headband.

Instructions:

• To start, take the leftover soap and run it through a grater.
• Then, fill the cloth bags and tie them with a ribbon.
• Finally, put one or more bags inside your cabinets, or on the spaces you prefer. Enjoy its aroma!

2. Liquid soap

Another way to recycle soap scraps in simple steps is to prepare a homemade liquid soap. The end result is multipurpose, that is, you can use it to wash your hands or to clean various surfaces in the house. 

If you decide to use it to wash your hands, try adding some essential oil with antibacterial properties to enhance its benefits. Some helpful options include: tea tree essential oil, lemon oil, or lavender oil. Use about 8-10 drops.

You need:

• Bar soap remnants (200 g).
• Water (750 ml).
• Glycerin (40 ml).
• Essential oil of your choice (10 drops, optional).

Instructions:

• First, grate the soap scum to powder.
• Next, heat the water until it reaches a boil.
• When the water boils, add the grated soap and glycerin.
• If you think it is too thick, add more water. On the contrary, if you see that it is too liquid, add more grated soap and glycerin.
• Stir the ingredients for a few minutes, until they are well integrated.
• At this point, if you prefer, add the antibacterial essential oil drops and mix.
• After obtaining the desired consistency, let it cool and pack it in a container for liquid soap.

3. Scrub with soap residue

Exfoliating products are quite popular today, since their regular application is one of the keys to keeping the skin clean, protected and free of impurities. In fact, it is very common to find them on the market in different presentations and compositions.

Now, to avoid having to invest in commercial options, we can make a homemade scrub with soap and natural ingredients. It is a way to recycle soap waste and, incidentally, save money. The end result is ideal for removing dead cells and smoothing the skin.

You need:

• Soap remnants (100 g).
• Water (50 ml).
• Flaxseed or ground oats (20 g).

Instructions:

• First, grate the soap scum to make it easier to use.
• Then, put them in a saucepan and heat them in a double boiler until they melt.
• Next, add a little water and ground flaxseed or oatmeal.
• Mix well and remove from heat.

• Let it rest for about 5 minutes and store the product in small molds.
• When it has solidified, your exfoliating soap is ready.
• To use it, moisten your face with warm water and rub the soap in gentle circular motions.
• For best results, rub a small loofah into your skin after applying the soap.
• To finish, rinse with plenty of cold water.
• Repeat its use between 2 and 3 times a week.
