Preparation mode:
- Mix the condensed milk with the warm milk.
- Beat the eggs with the grated coconut. Add it to the previous mix.
- Cover a flanera with liquid caramel and put it in a saucepan with hot water in a bain-marie for about 50 minutes.
- Put it in the fridge to keep it cool.
If you want, you can also do it in a bain-marie but in the oven for about 20-30 minutes at 200ºC or in the pressure cooker for about 50 minutes after the pot begins to steam.
Coconut flan with milk-free condensed milk
We show you this version separately because the way it is made is different from the rest of the versions. As everything is a matter of taste and in any case it will be a matter of choosing the one you like the most. You can try it as it is a very easy recipe that is not lazy to make.
Ingredients:
- 1 small pot of condensed milk
- 1 glass of water
- 4 eggs
Preparation mode:
- Mix the yolks with the condensed milk, the grated coconut and the water.
- Incorporate the whites mounted to the point of snow so that they do not fall.
- Put the mixture in a flanera with caramel and put in the oven in a water bath for about 30 minutes.
How to make the caramel
As simple as putting 50 grams of sugar (2 tablespoons and a half) and water in a microwave container and putting it in the microwave for about 2 minutes at maximum power. You can also make it in a pot or buy the candy already made.
- For each tablespoon of sugar, add a tablespoon of cold water.
- If you want it to be more liquid, add a splash of lemon.
- Do not let the caramel get too dark, because it will be bitter.
- If it hardens, add a tablespoon of water to it and bring it to a boil again.
- Always move the saucepan without touching the candy.
10 very useful tricks for your coconut flan
- When you put your flan in a bain-marie, put a few spoons in the water; it will prevent the water from splashing onto the flan.
- If you want a rustic flan , whisk the ingredients by hand. If you want it finer, use the electric mixer.
- In case your flan turns brown before it is completely set, put an aluminum foil on top. This will prevent it from burning.
- Always serve the flan very cold as it is richer. You can accompany it with whipped cream, walnuts, canned pineapple and / or peach or some strawberries and / or raspberries or waffle-type cookies.
- If you want it not to break when you unmold it, first let it cool down to room temperature and then put it in the fridge for a couple of hours. - In case the flan comes out with holes, beat the eggs very little and also cook in a water bath with the very hot water but do not boil.

- If you want the flan to be thicker, add a tablespoon of breadcrumbs to the mixture .
