If you want to make salts for personal use, the recommended amount is one cup (200 g). You can make the amount you want, as long as you take into account the proportions.

Epsom salts are the best for this type of product since if you use the common table (thick or fat) it will dry out your skin. Do not forget that to store the salts you have to use a glass jar with a hermetic lid and the ¾ parts of the container should not be exceeded. Store in a cool, dry place to prevent the mixture from getting wet.

General tips

To give color you must add to the salts an edible coloring (used for desserts and cakes) in a small quantity. No more than two drops to start. Then you will add more until you obtain the desired color, without stopping stirring and waiting for it to be completely stained.

If you want to soften the skin in addition to relaxing, add a teaspoon of liquid glycerin (5 ml) to the mixture. Be careful not to get the salts too wet.

Then add 5 ml of your favorite essential oil to give it a more pleasant texture and aroma. As soon as you put the salts in your bathtub, you will begin to enjoy its effects.

The most recommended are the sweet almond, the grape seed and the jojoba. If you only have olive, no problem, but keep in mind that the smell and texture are heavier.

Once you have mixed the salts with the oils or colorants, let the preparation dry well before transferring it to a glass jar. This way, it will last you longer and will not spoil. For a common bath in a large bathtub, add between 50 and 100 grams of salt.
